03/10/2016 David Horn Pictorial Intermediate

T his photo was taken at the south side of the Mesquite Dunes area, Death Valley, just a few miles east of Stovepipe Wells on March 5th 2016. This year there has been a spectacular wild flower "Super Bloom" in Death Valley, not seen since 2005. While this photo does not show any wild flowers, the tender green leaves on the bush at the right are indicative the spring has sprung. The photo was taken with a Canon 5DII camera and a Canon 24-105 F4 L series lens at 35mm. The RAW image was first processed as a Single Image HDR using Photomatix Pro software, and then further enhanced using Adobe Photoshop. I got down low to eliminate distracting elements and keep the composition simple. I was lucky to catch a brief beam of sunlight on a mainly cloudy day.
